Ryan Marschang Receives the AIChE Donald F. and Mildred Topp Othmer National Scholarship
Ryan Marschang (CBE'14) is a recipient of the AIChE Donald F. and Mildred Topp Othmer National Scholarship. This award is a reflection of the recipient's excellent academic record, enthusiastic involvement in AIChE activities, and chemical engineering career plans. Each year 15 winners are selected from among all applicants throughout the country. The scholarship consists of a $1,000 award.
AIChE organizes events to expand undergraduate student knowledge of professional chemical engineering. The group sponsors plant or chemical facility tours, trips to conferences, career seminars, and various events in which students have the opportunity to converse with the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering faculty outside of the classroom.
Marschang is Penn's AIChE student chapter president and is a Benjamin Franklin Scholar, a Joseph Wharton Scholar and a 2012 recipient of the Donald F. Othmer Sophomore Academic Excellence Award. He will graduate from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology in 2014.
Marschang's achievement will be recognized at the 2012 Annual Student Conference in Pittsburgh on Sunday, October 28.
